White Hat Blogging is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, in addition, I am an independent Jasper Affiliate, not an employee. I receive referral payments from Jasper and possibly other affiliates.
Well, due to work and real life, I was out of town nearly 80% of the month, so instead of trying to overwork the 20% I was in town, I took the entire month off and just relaxed and recharged, taking time to hike and enjoy the non-electronics time.
One of the hardest things for any affiliate marketer is to live the lifestyle they ascribe to be trying to reach, which is time freedom and the ability to do what they want without being beholden to a timeclock.
This is why I decided to take my hands fully off the wheel and just let the sites ride; what was published this month had already been pre-scheduled and written, meaning it was entirely hands-off.
Goals For Income Breakdown By 2023:
- Ads: 50%
- Affiliate: 40%
- Info Product: 10%
I have been pushing to move all my sites to a minimum of 100 posts as I feel this is the best level to see what Google feels about your sites and gives them the best chance to grow towards the 50k sessions and to my bigger 100k pageviews mark and a push into event larger ad revenue.
With that being said, Welcome to my June 2022 Income Report!
June 2022 At a Glance
Well, as expected, the impact of the Google algorithm in May hit some of my sites hard, and the level of loss was somewhere between 20%-40%, which puts the 100kx3 as basically a pipe dream, so I now am redirecting.
Instead of focusing on traffic only, I am now going to double down in building affiliate-related pages and pair this with adding email marketing to start capturing visitor details to allow Google to dominate far less of my site and performance each month.
Outside of this, I didn’t do anything, so there isn’t much to “report” as nothing was done.
Why Create Income Reports?
I can say that I don’t necessarily “enjoy” making these as they take a solid chunk of the day to gather and align, but they are very nice when I look back historically and can see where I was along with my thoughts at that point.
I started doing these income reports to show month-on-month growth and to provide some motivation to show that websites can be a solid income over time but that it isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme by any means.
Should you choose that you want to make websites for a living to earn the income, you need to be realistic that the work you do now will have a CHANCE to pay off in a year or more.
That being said, there is no other way to build an income that allows you the freedom with the time that a blogger can achieve; this is why and why I work continually to improve my skills and my niche sites.
If you are an absolute beginner, I would suggest joining the Income School Project 24; it can help you when you have no clue to get solid footing for a really good cost.
If you aren’t sold on them, you can look at another well-detailed affiliate marketing class and many others available from MoneyLab.co, which I am a member of as there is high value in the users within.
Overall Content Generation Breakdown
Building content against a vast array of sites can be intimidating; I write what I can, I work with Jasper when it makes sense, and then I outsource whatever I can afford to help keep the gas pedal pressed down hard.

My Niche Site Updates
Let’s dive into the site stats and details to help lend so usefulness to an income report. I am always interested in adding more details should anyone be interested but this helps keep me motivated and growing.
The benefit to this is people get to see where I feel like I have gone right or totally wrong and hopefully help some people skip these from occurring to themselves.
Site – Fitness
I would love to get this site moving again but I need to really stop, and really think deeply on how I can crack in as everything I tried before I stopped burning time and effort failed impressively.
This will probably be on the back burner until the new year as I just don’t know how to best approach this and to get results, there is a lot of competition and a lot of link backed sites making it trouble if you aren’t solely focused on it.

Plan For Next Month
Nothing
Site – Garden 1
I can never seem to find the right way to approach this site to get a jump, so just letting this sit and age until the time and ability are available for me to highly approach this and turn it into a fast grower.

Plan For Next Month
Just letting this site idle as there is not enough time in the day.
Site – Garden 2
This site has done pretty poorly since the algorithm update, I am focused on not creating new content and revising current content, and then using lost tertiary keywords to outsource new posts to be created is the plan moving forward.

Plan For Next Month
Researching and content audit anything that lost ranks on intended keywords and looking to lost keywords for inspiration for newer content creation.
Site – Outdoor 1
I am on hold for this currently; after 175 posts, the focus is now on looking to revise and evaluate as much of this content is from when I was a much poorer writer, and I was competing against more competition than I could even prepare myself for.

Plan For Next Month
Content audits are a work in progress over the next few months, may possibly migrate into a more broad approach to open up more content direction.
Site – Outdoor 3
This is the Project 24 Case Study site with a video playlist on YouTube. I continue to grow regardless of the algorithm, and my only worry is the inevitable end of the season, dropping traffic way down until next season.

Plan For Next Month
Continue to match the timeline. This means 5 more posts, and since we have reached the 5 posts per month part of the P24 timeline, I am planning to write these all myself to drop the costs while the profit from ads and affiliates is growing to make the project profitable overall.
I am working on adding at least one money content to the site per month, targeting lower competition “best xx for yy.”
Site – Outdoor 4
I added nothing to this site as part of the June time off, but it is more a passion project that will take years to become truly dominant. I continue to work hard to build rock-solid long-form content that is better than everything.

Plan For Next Month
I am still working on writing 8-12 posts each month on this site, there is no outsourcing, and all are focused on my knowledge and understanding. This has helped this site do pretty well for its first real year of growth, and I will hit 100 posts in July.
This site I would love to grow for the next 10 years is something I enjoy with all my heart making it much easier to be absorbed and write deep and long content to set it apart.
Site – Electronics 1
The other site that took the update hard, similar to the gardening site above, focuses on a deep audit of the content and then looking to see what keywords were targeted and if they were lost or if bonus keywords were lost.

Plan For Next Month
Finding keywords that went down to work on them and clean up any defects I can see, look to keywords they ranked for before and what they lost afterward.
Evaluate what excess keywords were lost and see if they should be included in an existing post or if it should be a new post itself.
Site – Backyard
The ability to rank content for the season had really passed, so this site is currently on the back burner. Looking at the seasonality, this area was highly increased due to the covid pandemic, and the range before it was about half as high.
This may be another site that needs to transition to a broader domain, and this will allow it to grow larger instead of being limited to the sub-niche I am in currently.

Plan For Next Month
Nothing except looking into the option to go wider with a more open domain, looking at the topics and making sure the change would leave me open to thousands of posts to grow for the next 5 years without topic exhaustion.
Site – WHB
This site tracks my blogging progress and wins and losses, currently focused on just income reports.

Site – Travel
I have begun publishing 2-4 posts on this site again now that there has been a break in new writing on other sites; the goal is to use this to take further vacations to the area.
Writing posts based on our last vacation to the area allows me to use the photos we took on the trip and be more unique instead of being all stock.

Plan For Next Month
Continue to grow at 2-4 posts which works out to one per week. Once I can reach 100 posts, then I can let it age and see what the performance will be overall.
Site – Business
This site is on hold where it sits, it doesn’t get loads of pageviews and is fairly limited until I get a better grasp on lead generation, and so I need to learn more to explode the value of the traffic.
June Results In Images
Plan For Next Month
I will continue to add posts but slower at 1-2 a month to grow to the 100 posts mark and round out content coverage; this site will hinge on lead generation, though, to make income.
Site – Finance
This site is on the back burner, with the impact to the other sites that were growing I need to now instead refocus on the money makers and less on these fun side-testing projects.

Plan For Next Month
The site is on hold.
Overall Lessons from June
Being AFK for a month after a major algorithm shakeup may not be the best idea. Still, it basically removes all the stress that people typically have when they are hit; this lets me just evaluate and adjust without the panic part.
Did I Meet my June Goals?
I purposely had no goals, so I did perfectly fine and maybe even greatly exceeded them by actually staying away!
What Are my Goals for July?
Focusing on revenue generation in preparation for the end of the year, if the content isn’t done by this month or maybe early next, getting ranked and someplace where it can convert and get meaningful traffic and sales will be difficult.
Outside of that, I am looking at building email lists and will use Systeme as their multi-functional platform, allowing you to sell courses and memberships while offering loads of value to someone for a very decent cost versus other platforms.
My Recommended Tools For Results
From there, here’s a quick recap on some of the most valuable resources and things I recommend you check out. They’ve helped me in my journey and I think they’ll be valuable in yours.
- Jasper.AI – This is your personal writing assistant, offering you more information and helping prompt you in writing make magical and informative content.
- Frase.io – I use this to build out my outlines for posts and then once done writing to check how my content aligns to the Top10 and Top20 SERP results to make sure I cover all the key terms other sites do.
- Project 24 – A welcome change from the competition, focused for all with a purely content first approach, hands-down an awesome course for building a niche site or an online business that focuses on content.
- Ezoic – Once you’ve got your website and some content, think about these guys. They’re doing some amazing things – and have helped me earn several thousand dollars (in ad revenue) that I’d not have earned otherwise.
- LinkWhisper – Honestly without this plugin managing links within my content would be incredibly difficult, honestly one of the easiest things to re-up each year and highly suggest it.
- Cloudways – As hosting goes choosing Cloudways with a VULTR HF server is the fastest you will ever see a backend run, no more waiting for the new post to load it is as close to desktop speeds as you can probably find.
